Jewel Chowdhury, Habiganj/
Mohammad Ali (38), the driver of the MP of Habiganj Lakhai Constituency, was infected with dengue fever and went to the country of no return after fighting with death for 36 hours. His untimely death has cast a shadow of mourning across the district. He died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka around 9 am on Thursday. However, allegations of medical negligence in Habiganj Sadar Hospital have been made by his relatives. Maybe this would not have happened if he had been sent to Dhaka for better treatment by timely examination.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Ali’s funeral prayer was held at the central Idgah ground after the Esha prayer on Thursday. Alhaj Advocate Md. Abu Zahir, District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Md. Alamgir Chowdhury, Municipal Mayor Ataur Rahman Salim and about a thousand Muslims from all levels were present at this time. He was buried in the Mohanpur graveyard that night.
Earlier on Tuesday, he was admitted to Sadar Hospital due to dengue. But if not treated properly, the condition worsens. He was sent to Dhaka on Wednesday for advanced treatment. Incidentally, the number of dengue patients has gradually increased throughout Habiganj district. About 15 people have been infected with dengue in the last few days. As of writing this report, 5 men and women are admitted to Sadar Hospital yesterday. Others were sent to different hospitals.
