Hafezzi Charitable Society Gains Global Recognition
Monday 9th March 2026, Cairo, Egypt — The humanitarian activities of the Hafezzi Charitable Society of Bangladesh (HCSB) have been appreciated by Egypt’s state human rights institution, the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), in recognition of the organization’s ongoing service to vulnerable communities affected by conflict and displacement.
At a courtesy meeting held in Cairo, Dr. Hany Ibrahim (PhD), Secretary General of the National Council for Human Rights, and Jamila Ismail, head of Hizb Al-Dostour and a well-known voice in Egypt’s democratic movement, met with representatives of Hafezzi Charitable Society of Bangladesh. Dr. Mamdouh, Head of the Economic Department of Egypt’s Human Rights Department and an internationally respected figure with close engagement in humanitarian affairs, was also present at the meeting. The discussion centered on the humanitarian crises unfolding in Gaza and Sudan, and on the sustained relief operations being carried out by HCSB in both regions. The distinguished guests noted that the organization’s ongoing service among war-affected and displaced people had deeply moved them.
They spoke highly of HCSB’s continuous humanitarian response, particularly its food assistance, relief distribution, and broader support initiatives in Gaza and Sudan. They also expressed admiration after witnessing the Ramadan relief response for displaced families arriving through the Rafah and Aswan border areas, where Iftar support is being provided and each family is receiving around 27 kilograms of essential food items. In addition, the officials praised the recognition received by HCSB in two Egyptian media outlets, as well as the organization’s Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Youth Council, describing it as a meaningful development in expanding international humanitarian collaboration.
Hafezzi Charitable Society of Bangladesh emphasized that its humanitarian mission extends beyond international emergency settings. Inside Bangladesh, the organization has long been engaged in a range of social welfare and development initiatives, including support for persons with disabilities, rehabilitation and assistance for new Muslims, support for Maktabs and Madrasas, livelihood support for underprivileged families, and skill development programs for youth.
These programs are being implemented with the guidance and cooperation of some of Bangladesh’s leading Islamic scholars, which has helped strengthen both the credibility and impact of the organization’s humanitarian work. Representatives of HCSB stated that they view such international recognition not as an achievement to celebrate, but as a reminder of their expanding responsibility toward humanity. The organization reiterated its commitment to continue its humanitarian efforts in Gaza, Sudan, and other crisis-affected regions across the world.
