Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and Khulna-5 constituency candidate with the 11-party alliance’s nominated scale symbol, Professor Mia Golam Parwar, said that the three parties that got the opportunity to govern the state in the last 54 years after independence have repeatedly failed the test of honesty, morality, character and trustworthiness. He said that those who repeatedly fail the test are not allowed to sit for the test again. The people now want to remove those failed parties from state power.

He also said that a strong political awakening has arisen across Bangladesh in the run-up to the 13th National Parliament elections. From the capital to the villages, workers, rickshaw pullers, daily wage earners, shopkeepers, businessmen, bankers and students all have one slogan on their lips now: we want change. He alleged that before coming to power, a party was involved in extortion, encroachment, violence and murder.

He claimed that there have been incidents of women voters being threatened with removing their hijabs while seeking votes for the beard, physical torture, attacks on meetings and killing of pirs and murubbids.

Those who want to undress mothers before coming to power will undress the entire nation if they come to power. Special guest at the public meeting, National Citizen Party (NCP) South Region Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah said that one party is preparing for bullets, and we are preparing for ballots.

We will defeat this bullet politics through ballot politics. Stating that elections are not an easy achievement, political leader Hasnat Abdullah said that thousands of people have been martyred to get this election, countless people have been subjected to disappearances and torture.

He said that our people had to sacrifice their lives to get this election. The mirror house was not just an establishment, but the whole of Bangladesh had become an open prison for the oppressed people.

In his speech at the election rally, he said that today’s election has come after a long and bloody struggle, from the politics of sitting in front of Baitul Mukarram before 2009 to the martyrdom of Osman Hadi in recent times. He also commented that this election was written in the blood of martyrs.

Hasnat Abdullah, calling on the administration to remember its children, parents and the people of the country if anyone accepts illegal money, said that this election was won with the blood of the young generation and martyrs. If there is an attempt to stuff the ballot box again, then the people’s rebellion cannot be handled.

Calling on the administration to play a neutral role in the February 12 election, he further said that people’s trust in the administration will return. At the same time, he expressed his political commitment to build a corruption-free and lobbying-free Bangladesh.

Upazila Jamaat Ameer Professor A. Alim Mollah presided over the election rally of the beard symbol organized by the 11-party alliance at the Fultala Independence Square on Saturday afternoon.

The program, conducted by Upazila Secretary Maulana Saiful Hasan Khan, was addressed by District Jamaat Ameer Maulana Emran Hussain, Secretary Munshi Mizanur Rahman, District Jamaat Assistant Secretary Professor Mia Golam Quddus, Principal Gausul Azam Hadi, District Youth Department President Professor Golam Mustafa Al Mujahid, District Vice President of Workers Welfare Federation Ali Akbar Morol, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Jbu Division Vice President Maulana Misbaul Haque, Secretary of Phultala Hindu Branch Deenbandhu Dey, Khelafat Majlish Phultala Branch President Sardar Jalal Uddin, Khanjahan Ali Thana Jamaat Ameer Dr Syed Hasan Mahmud Tito, Shibir Leader Hussain Ahmed, A.S. Rahim Khan, among others.

Highlighting the unprecedented public awakening in 18 unions of Fultala-Dumuria, Mia Golam Parwar further said that along with men and women, people from the minority Hindu community are also announcing their vote for the beard. He claimed that this public support has created panic among the opposing political forces, which is why threats and intimidation are being spread.

Rejecting the accusation of spreading confusion around the beard symbol, he said, “I was an MP in 2001. At that time, the country did not become Pakistan, and the branches and vermilion of Hindus were not taken away. The tide of beards cannot be stopped this time by spreading lies out of fear of political defeat. He said that in the new Bangladesh, the law and courts will be free from political control, repression of dissent will stop, and murderers and corrupt people will no longer be given protection.”

Talking about his political life, Mia Golam Parwar said that during his time as an MP, he did development work worth Tk 350 crore and no allegations of corruption were proven against him. He also said that waterlogging in the Billa Dakatiya and agricultural revival are his top priorities.
