Coordinating with the district administration to maintain law and order during the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election-2026.
Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md. A. Mannan participated in the operation briefing and exchange of views meeting organized at the Navy Kutubdia Contingent on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the conference room of the Cox’s Bazar Interrogation Administrator. Chief of the Navy, Admiral M. Nazmul Hasan, OSP, NPC, NDC, NCC, PSC, was present as the chief guest at the meeting.
The chief guest provided important directions to the participants in the discussion meeting and presented various plans and proposals to maintain law and order and ensure security during the elections. The meeting discussed in detail various issues aimed at successfully implementing the election process, ensuring law and order, and conducting a fair and impartial voting process. * All instructions of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Election Commission are being strictly followed by the BGB in carrying out election duties.
To ensure the best use of modern technology, the situation will be closely monitored in the election area through digital communication systems (DMR base, DMR walkie-talkie and UHF walkie-talkie sets), real-time reporting (Election Security Apps), GPS-based patrol activities and integrated command and control (District Monitoring Cell and Unit Monitoring Cell) systems.
In addition, the use of drones will be ensured to monitor all activities and situations at each polling station. * Riot control and situational training exercises (STX) and necessary drills have already been completed for each member assigned to election duties from the battalion headquarters.
As a result, each member is professionally prepared, confident and disciplined to carry out election duties with the necessary equipment. * The BGB is working in close coordination with other law enforcement agencies, administration and local election officials to ensure that voters can exercise their voting rights in a safe, calm and fear-free environment. At the same time, awareness and motivational activities are being conducted to increase public confidence.
* Security measures have been further strengthened in the border and border-adjacent areas, focusing on the elections, so that any kind of smuggling, illegal infiltration, arms or drug trafficking cannot adversely affect the election process. Patrols, intelligence surveillance and information-based campaign activities have been strengthened for that purpose.
In addition, the security of the constituency is being ensured by regularly setting up temporary check posts by the BGB patrol team to prevent the entry of illegal weapons and the infiltration of miscreants into the constituency.
