An accused under the warrant of multiple fraud cases was arrested in the Kulaura police operation of Moulvibazar.

Last Friday (October 21) night Kulaura police station officer in charge (OC) Md. Abduch Chalek’s SI Apu Kumar Das Gupta, ASI Md. Ruman Mia, ASI Md. Ariful Islam carried out a special operation from Sherpur of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila on the absconding accused in multiple fraud cases. Manik Vardhan was arrested by the cheater.

Detained Manik Vardhan is the son of Bhupendra Vardhan of Hingazia village of Kulaura upazila.

According to the police, the fraudster Manik Vardhan was working as the manager of Brahmanbazar M/s Bricks Field owned by a person named Najibur Rahman alias Mohammad Ali of Hingazia village. He sold raw bricks to various businessmen and common people and collected an estimated 8 crore rupees from around 137 people. But later, without giving bricks or money, he embezzled money and ran away. Thereafter the creditors filed CR Case No-148/20 against him under section 138 of NIACT in the learned Court.

Kulaura police station had 8 arrest warrants against him in the said case. Accused embezzled people’s money and made many people destitute and helpless. The accused was arrested under secret surveillance for a long time. The arrested accused Manik Vardhan has been sent to Moulvibazar learned court based on the warrant….
