Mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation Md. Ikramul Haque Titu said that Sheikh Russel was exposed to extreme brutality before he grew up. If Bangabandhu’s successor Sheikh Russell had lived, he too would have devoted himself to the development of the country and the service of the country. Assassins have deprived us of that opportunity.

The mayor said this at a discussion meeting, prayer and milad mahfil organized by Mymensingh City Corporation on the occasion of celebrating the birthday of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Russell Day-2022 at Shaheed Shahabuddin Auditorium on Tuesday at 02:00. The mayor also said that the father of the nation gave us identity and freedom. The daughter of the father of the nation has brought us the status of a developing nation, raised our head in the court of the world. Bangabandhu’s son-in-law Sajib Wazed Joy made the dream of digital Bangladesh a reality. We are grateful to the father of the nation and his family.

Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Yusuf Ali, Panel Mayor 03 and other councilors, Samima Akhtar Chief Engineer Md. Rafiqul Islam, Acting Secretary Annapurna Debnath, Regional Executive Officers Rafikuzzaman and Dipayan Das Shubo along with department and branch heads of MOSIK and other officials were present on the occasion. .

On the occasion of Sheikh Russell Day, Mymensingh City Corporation participated in the rally organized on the occasion of laying wreaths on the portrait of Sheikh Russell installed in the circuit house grounds. Apart from this, special prayer arrangements and various initiatives are taken in the religious places of worship by the City Corporation.
