Fazlur Rahman, Mayor of Moulvibazar Municipality, has been awarded the National Award for efficient performance of birth and death registration. Besides, local government deputy director of Moulvibazar Mallika Dey was selected as the best deputy director.

On the occasion of the National Birth and Death Registration Day on Sunday (October 16), it has been reported that the organizations and individuals nominated for this contribution will be presented with certificates and crests at a discussion meeting at the Bangabandhu Conference Center in Agargaon, Dhaka, capital.

At the funeral, 10 people have been nominated for this award across the country. There are seven local government deputy directors, two union chairmen. And as the only mayor in the whole country, Moulvibazar Municipal Mayor Fazlur Rahman was selected for this award.

When asked about the award, Mayor Fazlur Rahman said, ‘Birth and death registration was a complicated process. There are several steps that will reduce human suffering. First, we employ sufficient manpower in this section in the municipality. We make rooms on a large scale. Rallies, leaflets and miking are done to raise awareness. We are campaigning everywhere in the mass media, in public meetings, in the bazaar. Increase monitoring. It continues.’
Fazlur Rahman said that any recognition increases the speed and motivation of work. This award is also a recognition of work and hardship.
