Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said, we lost our way by losing Bangabandhu. We were again plunged into darkness. After the war of liberation, when we came back in a pile of rubble, we had nothing. We had zero savings in the bank. From there, Bangabandhu was taking the country forward. He got help from all over the world. People all over the world loved him.

The minister said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by Bangladesh Police Service Association on the occasion of the 47th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Thursday night.

The Home Minister said, Bangabandhu loved to forgive everyone. But we also saw how much he had to pay for this forgiveness.

He said, “I always see the police force turn around when the time comes.” As they stood up on March 25, just as they stood up to protect Bangabandhu, they also stood up during Corona. Our police force is now working as a frontline army all the time. So perhaps we have come to a place of relief.

Akhtar Hossain, Senior Secretary, Public Security Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Inspector General of Police and Chief Sponsor of Bangladesh Police Service Association were special guests in the event. Benazir Ahmed.

Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank and prominent economist Dr. Mohammad Farasuddin.

Dhaka District Police Superintendent and Association General Secretary Asaduzzaman delivered the welcome speech. Additional IGs, heads of various units of Dhaka police, senior officers and members of the association were present on the occasion.

Chief negotiator Mohammad Farasuddin said that many false stories are spread about Bakshal. To tell the truth, there is a dilemma and fear within the Awami League.

He said, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman started planning Bakshal two months after coming from the United Nations in December 1974. His aim was to curb corruption, unite people and bring all creative energies into the mainstream. He interacted with many. Two streams of leftism. The oppressed public leader Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani and the main pro-Moscow leader were Mohammad Farhad. Both of them strongly supported Bakshal. Bangabandhu felt more encouraged. Bangabandhu was never a socialist. He wanted egalitarian development with good elements from socialism.

Mohammad Farasuddin said the problem is that 28 percent of the people voted against the boat in the 70s. Their masters at home and abroad considered it a major defeat.

Talking about Bangabandhu’s generosity, he said that Major Dalim did not have a rank badge then. He came to the gate. I asked him will you meet Bangabandhu. Then Major Dalim said in a sarcastic manner, “You see.” But after telling Bangabandhu, he said yes, bring it, my son.

Senior Secretary Akhtar Hossain said that Bangabandhu did politics for his whole life to bring smiles to the faces of the suffering people. He worked to build the war-torn country. He loved the people of this country very much.

He said, if Bangabandhu was alive, Bangladesh would have become a developed country long ago. He urged the country to move forward by being inspired by the ideals of Bangabandhu.IGP Dr. Benazir Ahmed said, the development of full-fledged nationhood has been done by the hands of Bangabandhu. Bangabandhu was brutally killed by a class of people of this nation when the nation began to develop. The Bengali nation has also created an original sin. As a result, the Bengali nation will have to bear this grief for as long as this nation survives with its existence.

The IGP said, today 16 crore people, their 32 crore hands, today have proved how prophetic the vision of Bangabandhu was. That is why we should always be awake to move this nation forward in the spirit of Bangabandhu, no matter how sad we are. By always being awake to the philosophy behind Bangabandhu’s independence, we will be able to become a self-respecting nation free from hunger and poverty.

Paying tribute to Bangabandhu’s soul, he said, Bangabandhu forgave the Rajakars, forgave the brokers. Except those involved in some special crimes. The 28 percent of people who did not vote for Bangabandhu in the 1970s elections now stands at 35 percent. And they are the people who were with the establishment. 24 years of being with this establishment brought economic strength. And this economic power was later used to avenge their defeat. We must be wary of Bengalis in that form.

Additional IGP Monirul Islam said that Bangabandhu gave an independent state called Bangladesh to establish the self-identity of the Bengali nation. But after just four years, the defeated forces of 71 brutally killed Bangabandhu and his family like a coward in the dark of night on August 15, 1975.

He said that the achievement of independence of Bangladesh is the most proud and proud event of the Bengali nation, and the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and his family on August 15, 1975 is the most disgraceful and shameful event in the life of Bengalis.

At the beginning of the program, a minute’s silence was observed to pay respect to Bangabandhu and his family members who were martyred on August 15, 1975.

In the ceremony, a memorial was handed over to the son of ASI Siddiqur Rahman, who was killed on August 15, 1975 at Dhanmondi number 32.
