If BNP acts violently, Jubo League will also be forced to use force: Parash
Jewel Chowdhury, Habiganj/
Bangladesh Awami Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash said that Zia-Ershad’s source of power was the cantonment. And the source of our power is the people. BNP is afraid to ask people for votes, so they give dharnas to foreigners. They dream of getting to power through the back door.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the tri-annual conference of District Jubo League at Jalal Stadium in Habiganj on Tuesday. Jubo League chairman said, BNP is our enemy, the enemy of the spirit of liberation war. If BNP does violence then we will also be forced to use force.
Addressing the activists, he said, I know the question that will come to everyone’s mind. But the real question should be – what will the future leadership look like? That is the important question. No nation, country, organization can run without proper leadership. Leadership plays a role behind the rise and fall of the nation. The work of being with the people should be continued. One should be ready to make maximum sacrifice at any moment.
Parash also said that there is no scope for grouping or division in the present reality. You have to face the enemies of the country without following your brother. Our real enemy is the enemy of democracy, the enemy of the country.
Central Awami League Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hossain, Central Jubo League General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil, Central Awami League member Dr. Mushfiq Hussain Chowdhury, State Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism. Mahbub Ali MP, Habiganj District Awami League President Advocate Md. Abu Zahir MP, Habiganj-2 Constituency MP Abdul Majid Khan, Habiganj-1 Constituency MP Gazi Mohammad Shah Newaz etc.
District Jubo League made extensive preparations around the conference. Meanwhile, the law and order forces were also visible. Hundreds of leaders and activists from different upazilas attended the conference. Ignoring the drizzling rain, the activists came to the Jalal Stadium. People from all walks of life came from far and wide to see their beloved leaders. At the end of the conference, a council was held at Shilpakala Academy at night. But due to the lack of unity, the activists left hoping that a committee would be formed in consultation with the central leaders.
The national anthem was performed by local artists at the beginning of the conference. At this time, party flags along with the national flag were hoisted and the convention was inaugurated by flying the dove symbol of peace. About 10 thousand activists attended the conference. The last conference of Habiganj District Jubo League was held on September 4, 2014.
