Victory Day celebrated with various programs in Ctg
CCC Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain laid a wreath at the Liberation War Memorial in Kattoli (south of DC Park Chittagong) in the port city.
After sunrise on Monday (December 16), the Victory Day ceremony began with a 31-gun salute at the Liberation War Memorial in Kattoli.
Later, a police contingent gave an armed salute.
At the beginning, Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain paid tribute to the Liberation War Memorial.
At the time, the mayor said, “Even after 53 years of victory, the fundamental rights of the people of Bangladesh have not been ensured. We are still struggling for democracy. If the fundamental rights of the people are protected, we will get the real benefits of victory.”
Recalling the sacrifices of the students and people of the July Movement through Victory Day, he urged everyone to remain united.
Then the Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong, the Deputy Commissioner, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, the Muktijoddha Sangsad Command paid tribute.
The BNP also paid tribute to the Shaheed Minar.
Then, various political parties, social and cultural organizations paid tribute to the Shaheed Minar by placing flowers one by one.
On the other hand, the Chhatra Shibir organized a colorful rally in the city.
At the victory rally of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir in Chittagong, the Central Secretary General said

The district administration’s program on Victory Day includes a reception for freedom fighters and martyred family members at the District Shilpakala Academy at 11:30 am. Students will have the opportunity to watch films based on the Liberation War without tickets at the city’s cinema halls from 12 noon. Film screenings based on the Liberation War will be held in various parts of the city, prayers will be offered at religious places of worship, quality food will be served at hospitals, prisons, children’s homes, homeless centers and old age homes, student gatherings and sports programs at schools and colleges in the district and upazila headquarters.
In addition, the children’s park, DC park, zoo and museum will be kept open for children throughout the day.

At programme speakers said that after the victory in the great liberation war fought in 1971 with the aim of establishing equality, human dignity and social justice, the ruling class adopted the character of West Pakistan. He strongly demanded that those who took a stand against the student masses in this revolution be brought to justice.
