The price of soybean oil is Rs 14 per liter

After palm oil, the price of soybean oil has decreased. One liter of bottled water has reduced by Tk 14. And open soybean oil is 17 taka. As per the new rates, the price of bottled soybean will be Rs 178 per liter and open soybean oil will be Rs 158 per litre. Similarly, a 5 liter bottle has been reduced by Rs 65 to Rs 880. The new rates will be effective from Tuesday.

This information was informed in a press release of Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Banaspati Manufacturers Association, an organization of edible oil refining and marketing companies on Monday. The organization has sent this notice to the senior secretary in the Ministry of Commerce to reduce the price.

The notification of edible oil refiners and marketers also said that the members of the Edible Oil Owners Association met Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F. Rahman and Prime Minister’s Office Senior Secretary Tofazzal Hossain Mia. City Group Chairman Fazlur Rahman, Meghna Group Chairman Mustafa Kamal and TK Group Managing Director Mostafa Haider were present in that meeting. The meeting discussed in detail the current abnormal appreciation of the dollar and the complications of LC opening. At that time it was decided to reduce the price of edible oil by 14 rupees.

Before the new price cut, open soybeans were sold at Tk 175 per liter, Tk 192 per liter bottled and Tk 945 per 5 liter bottle. Earlier, the price of edible oil was increased on August 23. After about a month and a half, the price was reduced.

Earlier on September 22, the new price of palm oil was reduced from Tk 145 to Tk 133. Which has been implemented from 25 September.
