Kumari Puja is performed in Shrimangal

Puja of Goddess Durga’s virgin form was held in Raghunathpur Kalibari in Moulvibazar’s Srimangal in an atmosphere of religious solemnity.
Thousands of visitors from Moulvibazar district and Sylhet division gathered at Raghunathpur Kali temple for an hour-long puja from 11:30 am to 12:30 am on Monday.
This time Nandini Chakraborty Arpa, daughter of Nupur Chakraborty of Jamsi village of Srimangal Ashidron Union sat in the seat of Kumari Mata. Nandini Srimangal is a class four student of Jamsi Government Primary School.
Kumari Mata is worshiped as Rudrani of Goddess Durga. Asit Bhattacharya and Kamalapada Chakraborty presided over the puja. Sunil Vaidya Sachi, president of the organizing committee, said that this is the 15th Kumari Puja organized in Raghunathpur Kalibari. Kumari Puja was completed peacefully this year like every year.
A short religious discussion meeting was held after the puja. Srimangal Upazila Parishad Chairman Bhanu Lal Roy, Srimangal Upazila Executive Officer Ali Rajib Mahmud Mithun, Srimangal Puja Celebration Council President Doctor Haripad Roy, General Secretary Shripad Dev and Teacher Zahar Tarafdar addressed the meeting under the chairmanship of Principal Nikhil Bhattacharya.
