Habiganj PDB employee Bazlur Rahman Russell was sent to jail in connection with the stabbing of a housewife named Tahmina Akhter without getting dowry money in Rangergaon village of Gopaya union of Habiganj Sadar upazila.

On Wednesday, the Women and Child Abuse Tribunal 1,Tribunal, the judge of the court, ordered her to be sent to jail, not granted her bail. The lawyers of the plaintiff Md Sufi Mia and Azizur Rahman Khan Sajal confirmed the matter.

Earlier, SI Sajib Mia was given the responsibility of taking action on June 18 when a case was filed against Habiganj Sadar Police Station against the husband PDB employee Bazlur Rahman Russell. But the police did not arrest him for mysterious reasons. At one point he took bail for 6 weeks from the High Court. On Wednesday, he appeared in court and applied for bail. After a long hearing, the court did not grant his bail and ordered it to be sent to jail.

According to the details of the case, Bazlur Rahman Russell, son of the deceased Altafur Rahman of the cinema hall area of ​​Habiganj, married Tahmina Akhter in the area about five years ago. They also have a 4 -year -old daughter named Mahdia Rahman Saba in the marriage. Since the marriage, Bazlur Rahman Russell has been demanding Tk 2 lakh to buy a motorcycle with his wife. For this reason he used to torture Tahmina in various ways. Tahmina had to stay in the hospital even after being tortured. In this case, four persons including Bazlur Rahman Russell were sued. Later, in the efforts of the dignitaries, he would not do so in the future and signed the compromise and took Tahmina to his house. Bazlur Rahman applied for a dowry to buy Tk 1 lakh to buy a place near Tahmina some time ago. But when Tahmina expressed his inadequacy, he sent her to the hostel, including the child. Bazlur Rahman demanded Tk 1 lakh from Tahmina at the mother -in -law’s house on the evening of June 11. When Tahmina then highlighted her father’s helplessness, Bazlur Rahman stabbed her to kill her life. Tahmina was seriously injured. Bazlur Rahman escaped when the people in the neighborhood came forward and Tahmina was rescued and admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital. Tahmina filed a case against Bazlur Rahman on June 18 at Sadar Police Station.
