On the occasion of the 47th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a discussion meeting and a prayer meeting were held at the initiative of the Central Committee of the Howar Development Council.

The doa mahfil was organized in the hall of an elite restaurant in the city on Wednesday (August 24) at 4 pm.

SM Billah prayed for the forgiveness of all those killed including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and for the welfare of the country and the nation. Under the chairmanship of Suranjit Burman, President of Haor Development Council Central Committee and General Secretary Khaled Miar, the chief guest spoke – former office secretary of Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League, Additional PP Advocate Samsul Islam. Senior journalist MA Hannan, senior journalist MA Matin, human rights activist Manoranjan Talukder spoke as special guests. Sheikh Akhtar, Ruhit Chowdhury, Farhad, Md. spoke among others.
