Aamir Khan has announced that his next acting venture is titled Sitaare Zameen Par. The Bollywood superstar was speaking to News18 India during ‘Amrit Ratna 2023’ on Tuesday night when he announced the film and shared some details about it.

“I’m starring in and producing this film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. We are going ten steps ahead with the theme of ‘Taare Zameen Par’. That film made you cry, this one will make you laugh. In ‘Taare…’ I helped Darsheel’s character, but in this film nine people, with their own set of problems, will help me,” Aamir said.

Sitaare Zameen Par will mark Aamir Khan’s comeback to the big screen after Laal Singh Chaddha. Released in 2022, the film also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and was the official remake of Hollywood movie Forrest Gump. However, Laal Singh Chaddha failed to leave a mark at the box office.

For the unversed, Taare Zameen Par was released in 2007 and revolved around an eight-year-old boy named Ishaan, who has dyslexia. Aamir played the role of a school teacher in this movie.

Meanwhile, during his conversation with News18 India, Aamir also talked about his production ventures and revealed that he is producing another movie which will star Sunny Deol in the lead. This will mark the actors’ first film together.

“I’m doing 3 films as a producer. There is Laapata Ladies’ directed by Kiran (Rao). It comes out on January 5. Another one with my son Junaid (Khan), and ‘Lahore 1947’ with Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol. I’m looking forward to them,” he said.

“I am producing a movie which will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film is titled Lahore and Sunny Deol will play the lead in the movie. He is someone I have really been fond of all my life. I am only producing that movie. Sunny is the hero. It is a very good story,” Aamir added.
