Jamdani is a long tradition textile of Bangladesh. The last of the numerous types of muslin is the Jamdani. Its history is hundreds of years old. The initiative to revive Jamdani, which was almost lost at one time, came in the eighties. In order to sustain local products and jamdani products, to spread this product in the country as well as in the world market and to introduce the youth to jamdani and local textiles, the lung sector of Chottogram city will be inaugurated on September 8 in the ground of CRB Shirishtala, in collaboration with Bangladesh Jamdani Manufacturers and Exporters Association and Pathshishu Kalyan Foundation President Md Hannan. And General Secretary Abdul Majed. A month-long local produce and Jamdani textile fair has been organised. Last minute preparations are now underway.

It is hoped that the people of Chittagong will not divert them. If this fair is successful, the organizers plan to organize regular fairs in Chittagong in the future. From September 8, the fair will run daily from 10 am to 10 pm. There are 35 stalls in the fair. Apart from this, the organizing committee has sought everyone’s cooperation in order to complete the fair beautifully.
