On the occasion of the Shuva Janmashtami festival of Supreme Lord Shri Krishna in Vishwashanti Kalp, Mars procession was held in Sylhet city.

On Wednesday (September 6) around 11 o’clock ISKCON Bangladesh Vice-President A ISKCON Sylhet Principal Shrimt Bhakti Advaita Navadwip Swami Maharaj presided over the Mangal procession as chief guest – Sylhet City Corporation’s newly elected Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury.
Also present were ISKCON Sylhet General Secretary Bhagwat Karuna Das, Brahmachari, Sridhar Sudham Das, Navin Neel Madhav Das, Sankirtan Das, Siddha Madhav Das and others.

The Mangal Sobhayatra starts from the ISKCON Sylhet temple and ends at the temple after circling the town’s main road. Apart from this, despite the pressure on the main roads of the city due to intense heat, there was no traffic jam anywhere. The Sylhet Metropolitan Police is working alongside the Community Police to decongest the traffic. Besides Honda team, mobile team is also working.

ISKCON Sylhet has organized a three-day program on the occasion of Janmashtami, the appearance of Lord Krishna.

Janmashtami celebrations started on Wednesday with the Mars procession. On the second day tomorrow, Thursday, Vedic Homa Yajna will be held for the good wishes of world peace, Janmashtami discussion meeting in the afternoon and Mahabhishek at night. On the third day, the 127th auspicious advent tithi of ISKCON founder Acharya Sri AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada will be celebrated.

On this occasion, Mahabhishek, distribution of Mahaprasad, discussion meeting, cake cutting, cultural programs will be held.
