Benefits of freedom should be delivered from home to home: PM to Parliament

To mourn the death of Abdul Quddus of Natore-4 Constituency and Rebecca Momin, MP of Netrokona-4 Constituency, the meeting of the Parliament has been adjourned till 5:30 in the afternoon. Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, participating in the discussion of the condolence motion of the Parliament, urged the new MPs who won the by-elections and said that they should work to deliver the benefits of independence to every home.
Referring to the development of the government, he said that we have been able to elevate Bangladesh to the status of a developing country. Bangladesh needs to improve. I want you to serve the people of your area by becoming a dedicated soul.

Earlier, in the working advisory committee meeting of the Parliament, it was decided to continue this session till September 13. However, the Speaker will have the power to extend or reduce the duration of the session.
A condolence motion on the death of two MPs was moved at the beginning of the session and was carried unanimously. A minute’s silence and prayers were held in Parliament after the acceptance of the condolence proposal. Maulana Ruhul Amin Madani, MP of the ruling party led the prayer.
Participating in the discussion, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “It is very sad that the session of the Parliament has to begin with a condolence motion.” It was hoped that this time would be an exception. But that didn’t happen. 28 members of this parliament have died. Where 26 are from Awami League. And two from the National Party. Among them there are some women members.
Recalling Abdul Quddus, he said, Abdul Quddus was a student of Rajshahi University. He used to do Chhatra League. He was very brave. Nato was a place of terror. He has been elected there repeatedly. Although he was forced to lose. He was very popular with the people.
The Prime Minister said, I knew Rebecca Momin from my student days. I had pen friendship with her since she was a student of Rajshahi University. He always wrote letters. I would also answer. He used to talk about Bangabandhu’s ideology in letters. After I became VP in college, he encouraged me by letter. He was an active worker of Chhatra League.
Sheikh Hasina said, Matiur Rahman used to elect from Mymensingh. But he gave up his seat to Roshan Ershad when we formed an alliance. He was a great leader. The moment I told him that I would join this seat, I had to vacate it. He did not object for a moment. Immediately left the seat. Otherwise he would have been the MP of that seat now.
Referring to the loss of many leaders and workers of Awami League at various times, the parliament leader said that they have struggled. Suffering torture and imprisonment. He was with the father of the nation. After the killing of the father of the nation, they were subjected to various tortures. I pray for the forgiveness of their souls.
Sheikh Hasina said, our politics is for the welfare of the people. Rebekah Momin or Abdul Quddus have always worked for the welfare of the people. Rebecca Momin has donated land to our shelter project. They had this kind of mentality. lost them It’s really painful to have to discuss our condolences again and again.
He said, we have worked for the welfare of the people of the country since the formation of the government. Our development trend has reached the grassroots level. This is possible because the members of Parliament are performing their duties with utmost sincerity. Those who have lost today and those who have been elected there will have an appeal – to deliver the benefits of independence with the ideals and goals with which Bangladesh became independent – this is our only goal.
He said, serving people is the greatest achievement. There is nothing greater than this. This is what political leaders need most. Those who died today contributed to the reason we have come this far.
Parliament Deputy Leader Begum Matia Chowdhury, Member of Parliament Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Oysika Ayesha Khan, Junaid Ahmed Palak, Sajjadur Rahman, Shafiqul Islam Shimul, Ashraf Ali Khan Khosru, Abdul Aziz, Mosiur Rahman Ranga and others spoke on the condolence proposal.
Apart from two MPs from the government party, former state minister for religion Matiur Rahman, former MP Panna Kaiser, Mohammad Ulya expressed grief over the death. Apart from this, the former chief of Air Force Air Vice Marshal (retd.) Sultan Mahmud, the organizer of the Liberation War, Sirajul Alam Khan, the poet Mohammad Rafiq, the Minister of State for Social Welfare Md. Ashraf Ali Khan Khosru’s wife Kamrunnesa Ashraf Dina, publisher and editor of Ajker Kagaz newspaper, founder of Gemcon Group Kazi Shahed Ahmed, reserved seat MP Kaniz Fatema Ahmed’s father Kamal Uddin Ahmed Khan, agronomist Kazi Guava inventor Kazi M Badruddoza on death. Apart from this, the Parliament expressed grief by remembering the victims of the terrible fire in Maui, Hawaii Island, the tragic train accident in the Indian state of Odisha and the victims of accidents in different places in the country and abroad.
