A man named Ishtiaq Hossain Khan (70) was killed when he was hit by a truck while crossing the road at Jatrabari in the capital. The accident happened after 8 pm on Saturday.

Ishtiaq’s body has been kept at Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station Mofizul Alam confirmed this information to the media.

OC Mofizul Alam said that Ishtiaq was seriously injured when he was hit by a truck while crossing the road at Jatrabari junction. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
After the accident, the driver fled with the truck. OC Mofizul Alam also said that they are trying to arrest him.

Ishtiaq’s village home is in Narayanganj. He lived with his family in Malibagh of the capital.
