In Rupganj of Narayanganj, businessman Sumon and his friends were beaten up in a terrorist manner due to previous enmity. Later they poured petrol on them and set them on fire. They were rescued and admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Hospital in the capital. On Tuesday (August 29), businessman Suman’s wife Silmi Jahan Yuthi filed a case at Rupganj Police Station as the plaintiff. Two accused have been arrested in this incident.
The accused are- Mo Riton (26) son of deceased Nurul Islam of Baghab area of upazila, Md Shimul (23) son of Md Sanaullah Molla of Zangir area, Tarikul Islam (24) son of Saiful Islam of Bourartek area and Md Rafiz Uddin Mia son of Zangir area. Mamun Mia (22) along with 20-30 unidentified others.
Yuthi made a written complaint and said, “My husband Mo Suman is a brick and sand trader. The accused are drug addicts and terrorists. Due to previous enmity, my husband often quarreled with Mo Suman.
Last August 27 around 5 pm in Purbachal sub town of Rupganj, my husband Suman had a fight with accused No. 2 Shimul and accused No. 3 Tarikul. Later in the night they made a pre-planned attack. Various parts of my husband’s body were bruised by sharp weapons.
He was injured. His friends were also injured in the same way.
Rupganj Police Station (OC) AFM Syed said that two accused have been arrested in this incident. A case has been filed. Legal action will be taken.
