Border Excitement: Deputy Commissioner And Police Super of Bandarban visited the zero point

Lutfur Rahman (Uzzal): As the shelling continues inside Myanmar, panic prevails among the residents of Tumbru border in Ghumdhum union of Naikhongchari upazila of Bandarban.

In view of this,Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji And Superintendent Of Police Md.Tariqul Islam,PPM visited Ghumdhum border area on Monday (September 19).During this time They visited schools and populated areas along with The zero point.

Meanwhile,Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police,Bandarban also spoke to the BGB members engaged in border protection in the area adjacent to the zero point of the Bangladesh-Myanmar border.

Superintendent of Police Md.Tariqul Islam,PPM,Upazila Executive Officer Salma Ferdous,Executive Magistrate Rajiv Kumar Biswas,Ghumdhum UP Chairman Jahangir Aziz and law enforcement officers were present during the inspection.

At This Time Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji when asked by Journalists whether the locals will be evacuated after inspecting the border area,Said that the government is giving utmost importance to the security of Ghumdhum residents.We are talking about all levels.

Changing the examination center at eleven o’clock at Last Wednesday night was also a part of ensuring the safety of the people of this area and above all our students.

In response to the questions of the journalists,the Deputy Commissioner Further said,We are monitoring the overall situation.

Consideration is being given to evacuating people living at risk in areas close to the border to safe havens.For now we are here to see what kind of problems they are having.

Everything is being checked as part of moving them to a safe haven.You will know very soon.

For this reason we are discussing with upazila administration,local union parishad chairman and all concerned and will inform you later.

It should be noted that on August 28, 2 mortar shells fired from Myanmar fell near the North Mosque of Tumbru in Ghumdhum in an unexploded state.Five days after this incident, on September 3, two shells fell in the Ghumdhum area and on September AK-47 shells came. However,last Friday (September 16) there were casualties due to mine explosion and shelling.This has spread extreme fear among the Rohingyas and locals living in no man’s land.
