The police recovered the body of an 80-year-old man from Shankarpur Haor of Satkapan Union of Bahubal Upazila of Habiganj District.

The body of Rashid Ullah’s son Md. Noor Hossain (Nura) Pagla was recovered from a canal on the west side of the Lakshipur cemetery of the upazila at around 2 pm yesterday.

Relatives of elderly Nur Hossain alias Nura Pagla said that Nur Hossain (80), a resident of Narkeltala village of Satkapan Union, was suffering from mental problems for a long time. He left home last Tuesday around 4 pm. After that, his relatives and daughters could not find him even after searching in different places from afternoon to night.

On Wednesday around 2 o’clock, the people of the neighboring village found the dead body of Nur Hossain alias Nura Pagla in a canal when they went to work in Howar.

When the matter was immediately reported to the police station, a group of police led by Bahubal-Nabiganj Circle ASP and Bahubal Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Moshiur Rahman went and recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for post-mortem. According to the police, he may have died due to stroke or falling into water.
