The International Islamic Conference began in Mecca on Sunday under the supervision of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz. More than 150 scholars and muftis from 85 countries participated in this two-day conference.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islam and Dawah Affairs organized the conference titled ‘Creating communication between religious institutions, muftis, mashaikhs and related people from all over the world’ with the aim of promoting moderation, coexistence among religious leaders – above all, unity and solidarity.

Al-Hayatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh Chairman Allama Mahmudul Hasan participated as the representative of Bangladesh.

According to the sources of Saudi news agency SPA, the opening speech of the president of the conference held in seven episodes was given by the country’s minister of Islam and Dawah affairs. Abdul Latif Ale Shaikh. After this, the heads of various delegations gave speeches.

Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia and Head of Senior Scholars Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Ale Sheikh said that Saudi Arabia has achieved a unique position in the service of Islam and Muslims around the world. This international conference will play a special role in the spread of Islam worldwide. The conference held in Mecca carried the message of liberal and tolerant spirit of Islam and coexistence and called for the avoidance of hatred, violence, extremism.

Allama Mahmudul Hasan, the representative of Bangladesh at the international conference, presented some important proposals.

The recommendations are—

1. Compilation of an encyclopedia in Arabic and English language evaluating the sacrifices and sacrifices of Ulama-Mashaikhs for the nation and Islam in different parts of the world.

2. Spreading the clear message of the Saudi government in different parts of the world about showing due respect to the imams of the four madhhabs. To conclusively refute the slanders and slanders leveled against the Imams by the Orientalists and their agents and to take practical steps to settle all disputes against the four reliable Madhhabs. Because the tendency to disrespect the following Imams has spread like a cancer within a class, ravaging the body of the Ummah and polluting the atmosphere of unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah.

3. Stop broadcasting of programs and talk shows on television and electronic media that promote atheism and irreligion in the society.

4. Organizing international conferences on ‘Communication and Solidarity’ in Saudi every year and organizing local conferences in other Muslim countries of the world.

5. One of the characteristics of this Ummah is moderation. Arranging seminars in all Muslim countries to implement this spirit.

6. Establishing an Islamic University under Al-Hayatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatil Qawmiya funded by the Saudi government for Qawmi madrasa students in Bangladesh.

7. Already, the Bangladesh government has recognized the certificate of Hadith in Qaumi Madrasah as equivalent to Master’s. Therefore, I am proposing that Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasahs will evaluate their credentials and take a groundbreaking decision to provide direct admission opportunities to Qawmi students in Saudi universities including Madina University.
