A husband and wife were killed in a collision between an easy bike and a passenger bus in Dinajpur city. Two people, including the driver of the easy bike, were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.

The accident took place in Dinajpur city around 4 pm on Friday.

The husband and wife who died in the accident are Mangal Murmu (68) and Malti Hasda (50) from the tribal neighborhood of Dakshin Salandar in Chandipur Union of Parvatipur Upazila.

The injured are Mohsin Ali (37), son of Dhani Shah of Durgapur village of Parvatipur upazila, the easy bike driver, and Biplab Hasda (18) of Raniganj Adivasi Para, No. 1 Chehelgazi Union of Upazila, grandson of the deceased husband and wife.

It is learned that grandson Biplab Halda was going towards Maharaja Mor to catch a bus to Parvatipur from his house. On the way, the Easybike collided with a passenger bus coming from the opposite direction in the bus terminal area. 4 people including the driver of the easy bike were injured. When they were taken to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital with the help of locals, the doctor declared the husband and wife dead. Besides, two seriously injured people are being treated at the hospital.

Officer-in-charge of Dinajpur Kotwali police station Tanvirul Islam said that the easy bike and killer bus were seized due to the accident. The bus driver and helper are absconding.
