College student Shihab’s body was found after 22 hours

The body of missing student Shihab Sarkar was recovered while bathing in the river with his friends in Gobindganj upazila of Gaibandha.
After a long 22-hour search, the fire service’s diving team recovered his body from the Gangai river in Panitla of the upazila on Wednesday (August 9).
Son of Khaja Mia of Sihipur village of Rajahar Union of Shihab Upazila. He is an eleventh class student of Shahrgachi College.
Locals said that Shihab went to take a bath in the Gangnai river near the house with his friends on Tuesday afternoon. There he jumped from the bridge into the river and disappeared. Relatives searched the river for a long time but could not find him. Later, a team of Gobindganj Fire Service and a diving team of Rangpur Fire Service searched for the missing student. They searched for 22 hours and recovered his body on Wednesday morning.
Arif Anwar, station in-charge of Gobindganj Fire Service, said that the diving team of the fire service recovered the body of college student Shihab after trying for about 22 hours.
