Abdullah Al Mamun: Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Dr. Muhammad Yamin Chowdhury said that one of the agricultural loans is fish loan.  The commercial and specialized banks of the country do various irregularities and corruption by not providing bank loans to fish farmers on easy terms for the sake of their business. There will be no more such irregularities in the future. For this purpose, the government has discussed with the banks. Banks are now on alert. Bank loans for technical fisheries have been made easier. In the future there will be no more hindrances in fisheries.

He said these things after visiting the country’s first fish farming ‘Nawab Hitech Matsya Khamar’ in Chapainawabganj using the In-Pond Raceway System or IPRS system. On Saturday (September 17) morning, he visited Nawab Hi-Tech Fish Farm in Atahar area of Jhilim Union of Sadar Upazila.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock also said that fish farming in IPRS system is very safe. As a result, as fish will expand in the domestic market, this method will play an important role in the export of fish in the international market.

Akbar Hossain, the owner and entrepreneur of Nawab Hi-Tech Fish Farm, said that the amount of fish that can be produced in a 600-bigha reservoir, the same amount of fish will be produced in a 60-bigha farm with IPRS technology. There is a trend of fish farming in different parts of the country by cutting crop land and making ponds. In this, the land for agricultural products or crop production is decreasing. But if farms are developed in the country using IPRS technology, more fish will be available in less area. There will be no need to create thousands of ponds by destroying cropland.

Later, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Dr. Muhammad Yamin Chowdhury handed over the pickup van to the fishermen under the National Agricultural Technology Program Project of the Directorate of Fisheries in Shibganj. Finally, the secretary visited the fish sanctuary in Shibganj’s Pagla river.

Director General of Directorate of Fisheries Khandaker Mahbubul Haque, Deputy Director of Rajshahi Directorate of Fisheries Md. Abdur Rauf, Deputy Commissioner AKM Galiv Khan, Deputy Director of Fisheries Department (Finance and Planning) Md Saheed Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ahmed Mahbub-ul-Islam, Director of National Agricultural Technology Program Project of Fisheries Department Md. Moniruzzaman, District Fisheries Officer Md. Mahbubur Rahman and various levels of officials and employees of Nawab Hitech Fish Farm were also present at the time.
