A teenager named Raihan Mia (13) died due to electrocution in Palashbari, Gaibandha.

The incident took place at Ghorabandha Chowrasta Bazar area of Manoharpur Union of the upazila around 1 o’clock on Sunday (August 6).

The deceased Raihan Mia is the younger son of Rustom Mia of Jhakua Para village of the same union.

Locals said Raihan Mia was in her father’s shop. It was drizzling since evening. While closing the shop at around 1 am, he inadvertently got caught in an electric wire. At that time, the people around came and rescued Raihan and took him to Gaibandha General Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
