Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has commented that he does not want war and will complain to the United Nations if necessary. Regarding the firing of mortar shells and shelling on the Ghumdum-Tamburu border at Naikshyongchari in Bandarban, he said that efforts are being made to resolve the issue through peaceful and diplomatic means.

He said this while interacting with journalists at Dhanmondi in the capital on Saturday (September 17).

The Home Minister said that Myanmar has been strongly protested and condemned in the incident of mortar shell firing and casualties at Tumbru border of Ghumdhum Union of Naikxyongchari Upazila of Bandarban.

A mortar shell fired from Myanmar killed one person at a Rohingya camp in No Man’s Land on Friday evening. Three or four others were injured. Then a shell exploded in the courtyard of a house in Bangladesh. Earlier in the afternoon, a Bangladeshi teenager’s leg was blown off by a ‘mine’ explosion in the no man’s land on the Ghumdum-Tumbru border.
