Under ith RELI project of SDF in Chapainawabganj, the “Village Association Office House” was inaugurated. Md. Abdus Samad, former Senior Secretary and Chairperson, Board of Directors, SDF inaugurated the “Village Association Office House” Piarapur village of Baliadanga union of Sadar upazila under Resilience Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Improvement (RELI) project of Social Development Foundation (SDF) in Chapainawabganj district. “Village Association Office House” will play a major role in the socio-economic development of the poor and ultra-poor people of the village. On Saturday (15 July 2023) at 10 am, the Piarapur West Village Association office building was inaugurated. Abdus Samad, Former Senior Secretary and Chairperson, Board of Directors, SDF was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Mahabubur Rashid, District Manager of SDF- Chapainawabganj district was also present as a special guest. Speakers at the workshop said, “Resilience, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Improvement (RELI)” project is a project of Financial Institutions Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh, which is being implemented by SDF. This project is being implemented in 3200 villages of 20 districts of Bangladesh including Chapainawabganj district for the next 5 years (2021-2026) with the aim of poverty alleviation, capacity building, involvement of extremely poor and poor people in income-generating activities through financial assistance, assistance in ensuring food security, creation of permanent and sustainable organizations in villages, providing one-time grants to the underprivileged and helpless, development of rural infrastructure, unemployed Providing youth employment, livelihood development, health and nutrition support, Providing financial incentives to cottage, small and medium entrepreneurs to improve the quality of life of people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and above all empowering women. The activities of this project are being implemented in 150 villages of Chapainawabganj Sadar, Nachol and Shibganj upazilas. Members of village association, panel chairman-2 of Baliadanga Union Parishad and dignitaries of the area were present on the occasion.
