Seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi’s jersey is changing at Inter Miami. He played in Barcelona wearing the number 10 jersey. He also played for Argentina wearing the number 10 jersey.

However, he played for PSG wearing the number 30 jersey. But in Miami, will he be seen playing after the number ten jersey?

Messi was officially brought on Sunday in front of members, supporters by Inter Miami authorities. Before that, the contract signing phase was completed on Saturday. Leo officially started the new innings.

Messi signed a 2 year 6 month contract with Miami. That means he will play for Miami until December 2025.

However, at the end of this period, there is an opportunity to extend the contract for another year with the consent of both parties. That means Messi can be seen playing in Miami until 2026.

Miami’s deal with Messi isn’t like the other 10 normal deals in Major League Soccer. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner earns over Rs 600 crore per year at Inter Miami.

According to the club, apart from this, Messi will receive money from Major League Soccer sponsors and other partners. He will be given a portion of Apple TV’s deal with MLS. Money will also come from MLS sponsor and jersey supplier Adidas.

In Miami, he will be seen wearing the number ten jersey. Messi can play the first match in the League Cup (a new tournament involving all the teams of Major League Soccer and Mexico’s Liga MX) on July 21 against the Mexican club Cruz Azul. Although he has not yet started training with the team.

The All Star team that will play against English club Arsenal on July 19 in Major League Soccer has already been decided. Messi’s name is not there. So there is no possibility of Messi playing in that match.
