A group of tea workers in Srimangal of Moulvibazar held a press conference accusing the current committee of various irregularities and undemocratic activities. At that time, they also demanded not to hold elections without amending the constitution.

Tea workers leader Geeta Kanu read a written statement on behalf of tea workers at Srimangal Upazila Press Club of Moulvibazar on Sunday (July 16). Tea workers Biswajit Rigmon, Kajal Bagti, Sankar Bhumij, Suman Sawtal and Parimal Singh Baraik were present on this occasion. Speakers in the meeting said that the term of the current committee has expired almost two and a half years ago. According to the constitution, after the expiry of the election period, the election will be held by forming the election commissioner from the members who will not participate in the election. But the current committee spends almost one more term in total illegitimacy. Now to stay in power again, they have amended the constitution and formed the election commission with their own people. A case has also been filed in the Sylhet Labor Court for not revising the constitution and not holding elections with the constitution related to their own interests. At that time, the speakers said, at the same time, 70 lakh rupees will be deducted from the money earned by the labor and sweat of common workers for this election. Which they will devour. Therefore, they demanded not to hold elections without revising the constitution and forming an integrated election commission.
