10 district commissioners including Habiganj have been transferred. Three days ago, the Ministry of Public Administration reshuffled the post of Deputy Commissioner in a notification. This information was informed in a notification of the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (July 9). The ministry said that this order will be effective immediately.

According to the notification, Debi Chandra, Deputy Secretary of Economic Relations Department, has been appointed as Habiganj District Commissioner and current Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Jahan has been appointed as Deputy Secretary of Economic Relations Department.

Previously, in January 2021, Ishrat Jahan, the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Lands, was transferred as the Deputy Commissioner of Habiganj. Ishrat Jahan was a BCS 22nd batch officer. In personal life she is a mother of two children. Her husband Shariful Islam is also serving as additional secretary of the ministry. Since joining, he has shown success in various developmental works of Habiganj.
