3 people, including daughter-in-law, were seriously injured in an attack by in-laws while bringing their wife from her in-laws’ house in Srimangal, Moulvibazar.

On Friday (July 7th), a resident of Ashidron Union of Srimangal Upazila, Tong village. Kadio Mia went to her father-in-law Siddique Mia’s house in Dubagaon village of Sindurkhan union of the upazila to bring his wife who was staying at her in-laws home. At one stage of the conversation with the in-laws, the in-laws attacked him.
In the attack. Qadir Miar (28) his younger brother Abdul Karim (19) and maternal uncle Inchan Ali (28) were seriously injured.
When the injured were taken to Srimangal Hospital, the doctors advised Qadir’s younger brother Abdul Karim to be taken to Moulvibazar if his injuries were serious. When the seriously injured Abdul Karim was taken to Moulvibazar 250 bed hospital, the doctors advised him to take him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College for better treatment. Later Abdul Karim was taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Md. Qadir Mia said, I took my younger brother and uncle with me to bring my wife from the in-laws’ house. Later, when the family members, including the in-laws, said that they would not give my wife, there was an argument with them. At one point the in-laws attacked us with indigenous weapons. My younger brother Abdul Karim was seriously injured in the attack. He was admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital. If my brother is free from suspicion, I will file a complaint at the police station.
