An unidentified woman (40) died after being hit by a train in Gaibandha.

The accident took place on Friday (July 7) in the middle of Sarkar Para and Bahirban area near Gaibandha railway station.

Confirming the matter in the afternoon, Gaibandha Railway Station Master Abul Kashem said that the body was recovered with the help of GRP police. The name of the deceased woman is not known. Identification is being attempted. If identified, the body will be handed over to the family.

He also said that it is believed that while crossing the railway line, the woman fell under the Dinajpur-bound Dolanchampa Express train.
