A farmer named Anil Sarkar (50) died due to lightning in Madhavpur of Habiganj district. He is the son of deceased Binandra Sarkar of North Bejura village of Jagdishpur Union.

The incident took place on Wednesday (June 21) afternoon in Tegharia field of Jagdishpur Union.

Chairman of Jagdishpur Union Masud Khan told the media that Anil Sarkar died due to lightning while bringing cows from the field that afternoon. On receiving the news, the family members of the deceased went to the spot and recovered his body.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Madhavpur police station Abdur Razzak confirmed the death.
