Inauguration of distribution of agricultural incentives among farmers in Kumarkhali

Free distribution of Ufshi varieties of summer onion and Aman paddy and chemical fertilizers among small and marginal farmers in Kushtia Kumarkhali has been inaugurated. These are distributed with the aim of increasing cultivation and production through the use of seeds under the incentive program for Kharip/2023-24 season in the financial year 2022-23. Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Bitan Kumar Mandal presided over the opening ceremony of this distribution in front of the Upazila Parishad organized by Kumarkhali Upazila Agriculture Extension Department in cooperation with the upazila administration. Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Abdul Mannan Khan was the chief guest on the occasion. Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Md. Raisul Islam delivered the welcome speech. Small and marginal farmers of various unions of the upazila and officials and employees of the upazila agriculture department were present. Upazila Agriculture Officer agriculturist Debashish Kumar Das said that training arrangements have been made for small and marginal farmers so that they can produce crops in an improved manner. The field level officers of the Upazila Agricultural Extension Directorate are providing agricultural advice and overall support in the development of agriculture for the development of farmers. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Bitan Kumar Mandal said, this government is agriculture and farmer friendly. Farmers produce crops that are scorched by the sun and wet by the rain. They are working in various ways to improve the quality of life of farmers. Continued distribution of free fertilizers and seeds of various crops. Ensured fair price of produce to farmers. This government is always on the side of farmers. Providing free crop seeds to thousands of small and marginal farmers of the upazila every year. Therefore, he called for its proper and proper use. It is to be noted that in the season of 2023-24, under the incentive of Ufshi varieties of Aman rice, a total of 1620 small and marginal farmers in the upazila are being given these seeds and fertilizers. 1200 farmers were given rice seeds 5 kg, 10 kg DAP, 10 kg MOP and 420 farmers were given onion seeds 1 kg, DAP 20 kg, MOP 20 kg, cash money of Tk 2800.00 along with polythene, Laylon Sutani and pesticides.
