A housewife named Sheela Khatun (20) committed suicide by twisting her veil around her neck in her home after one year of marriage.

Police recovered the body of the deceased from his house in Kamardah village of Kamardah union of Gaibandhar Gobindganj upazila on Friday (June 16) around 11 am.

According to local sources, a young man named Payal Khan (25) had a long love relationship with Sheila Khatun (20). Later they got married. Sheela’s hanging body was recovered after a year of marriage.

Sheela Khatun is the wife of Payal Khan of that village. His father’s house is in Hijla village of Gabtali upazila of Bogra district.

Relatives said that Shila fell in love with Payal and got married a year ago. Sheela Khatun committed suicide by twisting the veil around her neck without the knowledge of everyone in the middle of the house.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Gobindganj police station Kumar Verma said that the body of Shila Khatun was recovered from their house after getting information. Husband’s family claims that Sheela committed suicide by hanging her veil around her neck. His body was sent to the morgue for post-mortem.
