A man named Akbar Ali died due to electrocution in Baniachang. The incident took place in Madaritula area of Upazila Sadar on Thursday.

Akbar Ali (65) is a resident of Madaritula village of the upazila.

Baniachong Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ajay Chandra Dev confirmed the matter.

He said, “It rained with stormy wind in Baniachang last night. At this time, the electric wire broke and fell to the ground. In the morning, Akbar Ali was electrocuted and died on the spot while cleaning the trees. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and recovered the body.
OC Ajay Chandra Dev also said that Akbar Ali’s body was handed over to his relatives as there was no complaint from the family.
