OC’s drive to ease traffic congestion and free sidewalks in Sariakandi
A police drive has been conducted under the leadership of OC A.F.M. Asaduzzaman in Sariakandi, Bogura to ease traffic congestion and keep sidewalks free from encroachment.
The drive was conducted at various points in the municipal area on Wednesday (March 11) afternoon to protect the sanctity of the upcoming Ramadan and to alleviate the suffering of the residents. During the drive, police were deployed at Tipur More, Kathaltola More, Muktijoddha More and Madrasa More and traders were instructed to remove their shops illegally occupying the sidewalks.
Present at the time were Sirajul Islam Phul, President of Sariakandi Banik Samabay Samity Limited, Vice-President Mujahidul Islam Polash, police members and journalists.
Municipal resident Delwar Hossain Jhantu said that there is always severe traffic jam on the main road of the municipality due to parking of meat shops, auto rickshaws, vans and easy bikes on both sides of the road.
Due to this, ordinary pedestrians and residents of the municipality are constantly facing extreme hardship in terms of movement. In this regard, Sariakandi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) A.F.M. Asaduzzaman said that the police operation will continue to resolve traffic jams in the municipal area and keep the sidewalks free from encroachment.
