MP Dr. Anwarul Haque inaugurated canal excavation in Netrokona
The excavation work of Tilakkhali canal has been inaugurated by cutting the soil with his own hands and carrying a basket on his head. The newly elected Member of Parliament from Netrokona-2 (Sadar-Barhatta) constituency, District BNP President Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque, is walking on the path shown by BNP Chairperson Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He inaugurated the excavation work of Tilakkhali canal, which is associated with the memory of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, by cutting the soil with his own hands and carrying a basket on his head on Monday (March 9) at around 12 noon. At that time, leaders of BNP and its affiliated organizations also followed the MP and started cutting the soil with a basket on their heads. On this occasion, the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) organized the excavation of this canal under the Pond and Canal Development (2nd Revised) Project across the country at Krishnakhali in Medni Union of Sadar Upazila. On this occasion, on the banks of the canal, under the chairmanship of Sadar Upazila BNP President Md. Mojibur Rahman Khan and moderated by General Secretary Taj Uddin Faras Sentu, District BNP President Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque, Member of Parliament for Netrakena-2 (Sadar-Barhatta) constituency, spoke as the chief guest. Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Executive Engineer Md. Wahiduzzaman, former district BNP president Advocate Nuruzzaman Nuru, former general secretary and GP Advocate Mahfuzul Haque, former organizing secretary SM Shafiqul Quader Shuja, former district BNP joint convener Bazlur Rahman Pathan, Moniruzzaman Dudu, former municipal BNP general secretary Gazi Tofail Hossain, etc. spoke as special guests. LGED Executive Engineer Md. Wahiduzzaman said that under the Pond and Canal Development (Second Revised) Project across the country, a 4 thousand 20 meter long Tilakkhali canal will be dug at a cost of 1 crore 36 lakh 80 thousand taka.
