In addition, about 1 crore 20 lakh taka has been spent on the construction of a temporary dam on the Bakkhali River.
A correspondent of the Daily Morning Glory newspaper visited the scene to learn about this. At that time, Jasim, son of Abdul Awal, a resident of Ramu upazila in Cox’s Bazar district, said, “Earlier, we had a lot of difficulty traveling on this road. The road condition was so bad that at any time there was a risk of the car overturning and falling into a ditch. Now, with the improvement of the road, we can travel easily and safely.”
Meanwhile, when the team Daily Morning Glory correspondent reached the newly built Toiton Hat Bazaar in Pekua upazila, local resident Abdur Rahim said, “Earlier, the infrastructure of this market was very weak. When it rained, it became difficult to conduct business due to mud and water. Now, with the construction of the new hat and bazaar infrastructure, traders are now getting many benefits and the environment has also become much better for buyers.”
In this regard, LGED Cox’s Bazar Executive Engineer Mohammad Sayeduzzaman Sadek said, “LGED is implementing various development projects to improve the rural communication system of Cox’s Bazar district and increase its disaster response capacity. The people of the district are directly benefiting from the implementation of these ongoing projects. Such development activities will continue in the future as well.”
