On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the ‘International Women’s Day 2026 Debate Competition’ was held at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology(RUET). The competition was organized by BRAC Social Compliance Program in the university hall on Sunday (March 8, 2026). A total of 6 students participated in the competition in two groups, the government party and the opposition party. Assistant Professor ZHM Manjur Morshed of the Department of Architecture, Assistant Professor Abu Ismail Siddiqui of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Assistant Professor Oishee Jyoti of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering were present as judges. The government team won the competition. The best debater of the government team was Md. Naim and the best debater of the private team was Homaira Tabasum. At the end of the competition, the Director of the Student Welfare Department of RUET, Professor Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam Sarkar, was present as the chief guest at the award ceremony. He said, International Women’s Day reminds us that women and men have equal dignity. Only when the respect, security and empowerment of women are ensured, we can build a just and prosperous society. The country will move forward. This parliament believes that establishing women’s rights brings positive changes for men as well.
