Deep respect for martyrs in Netrakona on the first hour of Ekushey
The great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day were celebrated with due dignity and deep respect.
On the occasion of the day, various programs were organized throughout the day, including paying tribute to the martyrs, discussions, cultural performances, painting competitions and other events.
In the first hour of Ekushey, people from all walks of life attended the Central Shaheed Minar in Chhota Bazar.
At 12:01 am, they paid tribute by placing wreaths at the martyrs’ altar. Netrokona-2 Sadar Barhatta constituency MP Dr. Anwarul Haque, Deputy Commissioner Md. Saifur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Tariqul Islam and Municipal Administrator Arifur Rahman Sardar first laid floral tributes.
Then, various government and private institutions, political parties, social and cultural organizations, and the general public paid tribute to the martyrs.
Discussions and cultural programs were held at different places in the city to mark the day.
The speakers called for people to embrace the spirit of the language movement and be inspired by patriotism.
