Debate competition held by Nabajagaran Library in Fulchhari
A debate competition was held in Fulchhari, Gaibandha, organized by Nabajagaran Library. Students from four educational institutions of the upazila participated in it and showed their best in logic, information and presentation skills.
The competition, organized by Nabajagaran Library in collaboration with Abul Kashem Ilima Kalyan Trust on Tuesday afternoon at the Burail Model School and College premises of the upazila, was held in an enthusiastic atmosphere with the lively presence of students.
The competition consisted of debates on two contemporary topics. Chalua Fazle Rabbi Girls’ High School won the debate titled “Are mobile phones beneficial or harmful for students.”
On the other hand, Jamila Akhter High School won the debate titled “Is Artificial Intelligence (AI) a threat or a blessing for mankind?”.
The judges were Ibrahim Akand Selim, Principal of Burail Model School and College, retired headmaster Ibrahim Mia, lecturer Shafiur Rahman, assistant teacher Zahurul Islam and Washim Chakraborty, assistant teacher of Jamila Akhtar High School.
The results of the competition were determined based on their evaluation. Teachers and students of various educational institutions and local dignitaries were present at the event.
Students demonstrated their talent and creativity through logical speeches, information-rich analysis and lively arguments. Finally, prizes were given to the winners.
The organizers said that such events will continue in the future to increase the thinking power and confidence of the students.
