Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has given a reception to 17 winning MPs in the greater Jessore-Kushtia region in the national parliament elections. The reception ceremony organized at the Jessore District Jamaat-e-Islami office on Sunday (February 15) was held in a festive atmosphere.

Party’s Central Executive Council member and Jessore-Kushtia Region Director Mobarak Hossain was present as the chief guest at the ceremony. Responsible leaders of the district Jamaat-e-Islami presided over the ceremony. The entire office premises were filled to the brim with the presence of leaders and activists from different districts and upazilas of the greater Jessore-Kushtia region.

People’s verdict is a deposit – Mobarak Hossain
In his speech as the chief guest, Mobarak Hossain said, “People’s verdict is a deposit. It is the moral and organizational responsibility of every winning MP to protect the dignity of this deposit.” He called on the winning MPs to work unitedly and said that they must fulfill their responsibilities through honesty, transparency and accountability to fulfill the expectations of the people of the country.

He also said that those who could not win the election have no reason to be disappointed. Everyone must work together to further strengthen the movement-struggle and organizational activities of the future. He also called for reaching the doorsteps of the common people and spreading the message of building a just state.

At the ceremony, 17 winning MPs were honored by presenting floral greetings and crests. At that time, the leaders and activists present congratulated the newly elected MPs with applause. The speakers at the reception said that this victory is the victory of the people and the fruit of the long-standing sacrifices of the organization.
