BNP’s historic victory in 3 parliamentary constituencies in Gopalganj

On the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026, the BNP-nominated candidates with the paddy sheaf symbol have won in all 3 parliamentary constituencies in Gopalganj.
After counting the ballot papers and postal votes, District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Md. Arif-uz-Zaman announced the results privately at around 8 pm.

215 Gopalganj-1 (part of Muksudpur and Kashiani):
In this constituency, BNP-nominated candidate Selimuzzaman Molla won privately by getting 69,462 votes with the paddy sheaf symbol.

His closest rival, Ganaodhikar Parishad-nominated MP candidate Md. Kabir Mia, got 54,329 votes with the truck symbol. However, he has been imprisoned for a long time in multiple cases. He participated in the 13th National Parliament election from prison.

216 Gopalganj-2 (Gopalganj Sadar and part of Kashiani):
BNP nominated candidate KM Babar won unofficially in this constituency by getting 40,048 votes under the paddy sheaf symbol.

His nearest rival, independent candidate, former MP and Zilla Parishad Chairman MH Khan Manju, got 33,039 votes under the deer symbol.

Gopalganj-3 (Tungipara and Kotalipara): BNP nominated candidate SM Jilani won unofficially by getting 60,991 votes under the paddy sheaf symbol. His main rival, independent candidate Govinda Chandra Pramanik, got 34,339 votes under the authentic horse symbol.

District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Md. Arif-uz-Zaman himself announced the results from the primary unofficial results collection and presentation center set up at the District Returning Officer’s office.

At that time, Deputy Director of Local Government Department (DDLG) Md. Ashraful Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Aftab Uddin, Additional Jail Administrator (General) S. M. Tarek Sultan, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Fariha Tanjin, District Election Officer Md. Aliul Islam, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Ataur Rahman, other election-related officials and employees, and media workers working in various electronic and print media in the district were present.

Meanwhile, Gopalganj District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Md. Arif-uz-Zaman expressed his utmost gratitude to the district law enforcement agencies, joint forces, Ansar and battalion, media workers and everyone involved in the election for conducting the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026 in a fair and peaceful environment without any untoward incident.
