Khulna-6: Massive Voter Turnout in Koyra; Festive Atmosphere Prevails in Coastal Centers

The 13th National Parliamentary Election is being held across the country today in a peaceful and festive environment. In the Khulna-6 constituency (Koyra-Paikgacha), voting began this morning with spontaneous participation from the general public. A heavy influx of voters was particularly observed at the Uttar Bedkashi Government Primary School center in the remote coastal area adjacent to the Sundarbans.

Long Queues Since Early Morning Even before the official start of polling at 8:00 AM, long queues of both male and female voters were seen stretching outside the center. Despite the winter chill, people from these remote coastal regions showed immense enthusiasm to exercise their democratic rights. The presence of female voters was notably significant.

​Peaceful Environment and Tight Security
​No untoward incidents have been reported at the Bedkashi Government Primary School center so far. Voters are casting their ballots smoothly under the strict supervision of law enforcement agencies. The Presiding Officer of the center stated:
​”Voters have been standing in disciplined lines since morning. We have ensured maximum security so that everyone can vote for their preferred candidate without any fear or intimidation.

“Key Contenders the battle for the Khulna-6 seat is multi-faceted this year. The prominent candidates include:
​S.M. Monirul Hasan (BNP) Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami) Prashanta Kumar Mondal (CPB) Md. Asadullah Fakir (Islami Andolan Bangladesh) Md. Mostafa Kamal Jehangir (Jatiya Party-Ershad)
​Voter Feedback and Security Measures
​”The environment is very peaceful. There are no hassles,” said an elderly voter after casting his ballot. “We want a representative who will work for the development and protection of our coastal embankments.” A first-time voter expressed excitement, noting the welcoming atmosphere at the booths.

​To maintain law and order, patrols by Police, Ansar, and BGB have been intensified throughout Koyra Upazila. Executive Magistrates are also active in the field to prevent any irregularities.
