The national parliamentary election is an important state process aimed at maintaining democratic continuity, ensuring people’s right to vote and holding a free, fair and acceptable election. To complete this process peacefully and reliably, the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force has taken maximum preparations under a nationwide integrated security system. On the occasion of the National Parliamentary Election and Referendum-2026, 1,191 striking teams of Ansar Bahini are actively performing their duties at the field level, which is working as a strong structure to strengthen electoral security.

On the occasion of the National Parliamentary Election and Referendum-2026, 1,191 armed teams of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force are deployed as striking forces to ensure security and maintain discipline in a total of 42,779 polling stations across the country at emergency moments.

As part of the implementation of the Ministry of Home Affairs’s uninterrupted and integrated security plan, special priority has been given to the security of polling stations in remote and risky areas. Under this, 2 Ansar Battalion Striking Teams have been deployed in each upazila of the country and 1 in each district. The activities of these teams are being closely monitored round the clock from the Ansar VDP District Office, Range Office and Headquarters Control Room.

In order to ensure that the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum are conducted in a credible, acceptable, free and fair manner, the electoral security management has been brought under a modern digital framework. As part of this system, one member of each Ansar Battalion Striking Team is serving as a Responder in the ‘Election Security App’, which ensures quick response, information exchange and effective coordination.

According to sources from the Ansar VDP headquarters, the members of the Ansar Battalion Striking Team will be active in the field until February 14 during the three phases of election duty—pre-election, election day, and post-election. They will always be ready to prevent any untoward incident, chaos, or malicious attempts arising during the election.

Under the combined security system, the Ansar Battalion Striking Team is performing its duties in close coordination with the district and upazila administration, army, police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), RAB, and other law enforcement agencies.

Overall, a solid foundation has been laid for the peaceful and orderly completion of the National Assembly Election and Referendum 2026 through well-planned security management, technology-based supervision, and coordinated activities of various forces. The active presence of the Ansar force at the field level is expected to play a significant role not only in maintaining law and order during the election period, but also in rebuilding public confidence, increasing voter participation, and further strengthening and institutionalizing the country’s democratic process.
