Ansar-VDP will remain steadfast in performing its duties impartially at polling stations in the national election
The nationwide preparations of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force to make the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026 festive, free, fair and universally acceptable are now in their final stages. With a combination of professionalism, impartiality and modern digital supervision, the force has been brought to a contemporary, transparent and disciplined position—the aim of which is to ensure fair elections on the one hand, and strengthen the trust of the people on the other.
In continuation of this, election preparatory rallies have been successfully completed in every district of the country. As part of this, a huge preparatory rally of Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar was held at the Army Stadium in Dhaka district today. Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud, Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force, was present as the chief guest at the rally. A total of 27,703 Ansar members serving in 2,131 polling stations in Dhaka city participated in this.
At the rally, the Director General laid special emphasis on the effective use of ‘Election Security Apps’, Integrated Security Response System and modern technology in carrying out election duties.
He highlighted the successful implementation of a modern digital monitoring system for the first time to ensure transparency and dynamism in member selection, certification and allowance distribution.
The Director General said, “We have now broken the traditional outdated process and have now embarked on a completely digital management. Every step from the distribution of duties to the members to the management of food is now transparent and accountable.
As a result, the members of the force are being motivated to perform their duties according to their conscience and command, free from any unethical influence.”
Addressing the members of the force, he further said, “You are not just members of a force – you are the guardians of the dignity of the national flag and representatives of the common voters. You are not of any particular party; taking a stand for the soil and the people of the country is your only identity.”
He warned, “This is the first time that every moment will be closely monitored through CCTV cameras at the polling stations and digital monitoring channels extending directly to the ministry. The force is much more vigilant and capable than before to prevent any kind of malpractice or confusion. If the concerned member is involved in any activity against impartiality, the instructions of the Election Commission or discipline at the polling station, he will have to face strict legal consequences.”
He also ordered strict abstention from disseminating any pictures or videos related to weapons, equipment or personal discipline on social media like Facebook, YouTube or TikTok in the interest of protecting electoral security. Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force believes that the people’s trust in the democratic system and the future of the state depend on the honesty, impartiality and responsibility of each member.
This preparation, developed through the effective application of modern digital technology and a combination of patriotism, will not only ensure a fair and acceptable election, but will also further strengthen the institutional foundation of national security and democracy by setting new standards of transparency, accountability and professionalism in election management.
The Director General expressed his strong hope that this modernization and professionalism of Ansar and VDP in the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026 will be considered a positive, sustainable and followable example in future election management.
