Netrakona District Police Superintendent Md. Tariqul Islam said at the Police Line Briefing Parade, since the historic mass uprising of the students, the people of the country have been looking forward to a voting ceremony in a festive and peaceful atmosphere.

The government has taken all measures to ensure that the upcoming thirteenth national parliament elections can be held in a free, fair, impartial, peaceful and festive atmosphere.

On behalf of the police department, we appeal to the people, you will come to the polling station without any hindrance, in a festive atmosphere, you will stand in line and vote for your preferred candidate and return home safely.

If anyone tries to commit any kind of misdeed on the way to or from the polling station or inside the center, they will be dealt with severely. He said that out of a total of 676 polling stations in 5 parliamentary constituencies in Netrokona district, 110 stations have been identified as risky. Police will have body-worn cameras at these risky stations. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone who tries to commit a crime at the station.

He said this to journalists present at the Netrokona Police Lines ground on Sunday (February 8) afternoon after a briefing parade on the security measures taken to maintain law and order on the occasion of the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026.

In response to a question from journalists, he said that 1890 police personnel have been deployed in Netrokona district for the election. In addition, along with Ansar, BGB, RAB and the army, a magistrate will be at the ground to operate a mobile court.
